About HT Codeathon

Hindustan Times is launching India’s first-of-its-kind coding initiative for school children, HT Codeathon.

HT Codeathon is an ideal platform for the students to learn coding and showcase the talent of our young budding coders thereby putting them on an accelerated path to success.

Why Coding?

Coding is of supreme importance in the current context and it is a skill set that is required for these students to succeed in the 21st Century. Coding is a skill set that is essential to be successful not just in school or career but beyond as a lot of opportunities are available for coders in the current scenario.

Most of the skillsets that are required for the current jobs would be obsolete in a few years and coding is still a growing skillset with emerging opportunities. Learning coding at this early age will allow students to prepare for jobs that don't even exist in the current market scenario.

Website Development with HTML & CSS

HTML is the foundation of all web pages. It defines the structure of a page, CSS defines its style and Javascript adds functionality. HTML, CSS and JS are the beginning of everything to make your first web page! Learn all these and start creating amazing websites.

Classes VIII – IX

Game Development with Python

You will learn to build games using Python and Pygame module. Pygame is used to create all sorts of games. It makes it easy to add graphics and sound to Python programs. Let’s learn Python programming along with Pygame module to create amazing games.

How Codeathon works

Register

Sign up as a parent and register your child for the Codeathon championship. Fill up all the details and make the payment to make your child the Codeathon Champion.

Refer and earn points

Share you referral code and referral link with your friends and family members, once they join the program you earn points and get closer to the Codeathon Finale.

Take Quizzes

Prepare for the largest coding championship in India, test your coding skills and earn points just by answering questions. The more you practice higher is the chance to become a champion.

Qualifier Stage

Cross this hurdle to compete with the best in the country. All participants at this stage will get certificate of achievement and a chance to appear in the Finale and become Codeathon Champion.
